BBVA Spark and Bit2Me, the leading digital asset company in the Spanish-speaking market and registered with the Bank of Spain, have just closed a financing agreement with a venture debt. This agreement adds to the investment that Bit2Me received in June from Investcorp, Telefónica Ventures, Stratminds, and Emurgo.

With this financing from BBVA Spark, Bit2Me takes a further step in the adoption of cryptocurrencies. This financing benefits from the support of the European Union and the European Investment Fund under the InvestEU Fund program.

This move, which comes at a turning point for the sector where trust is being placed in exchanges that operate transparently and with a clear fiscal headquarters, will enable Bit2Me to boost its activity as the leading cryptocurrency platform in Spain.

For Leif Ferreira, CEO and co-founder of Bit2Me, “this financing from a banking entity to a crypto company is proof that the adoption set to arrive in 2024 will be at all levels”.

For Abel Peña, CSO of Bit2Me, the adoption of Bitcoin and DLT technology is at a historic moment: “We are at an early stage of adoption, but with the potential for global adoption as institutional and financial entities begin to use them widely”, Peña states.
