Bit2Me, the main digital asset company in the Spanish market, registered with the Bank of Spain and backed by Telefónica, Investcorp, and Inveready, has developed an application for Metrovacesa called Kalio, which allows users to receive an NFT with the characteristics of the property on which they have made a reservation.
Metrovacesa, a leading real estate developer in Spain with over 100 years of history, with a market value of its assets (GAV) reached 2.516 billion euros as of June 2023, and more than 150 ongoing projects nationwide, presents KALIO, a cutting-edge application that revolutionizes the customer experience in the home buying and selling process.
KALIO is a wallet designed for cryptocurrency users interested in purchasing a Metrovacesa property. The application allows them to request payment of the pre-booking of the selected property with USDT, a stablecoin (virtual stable currency). From KALIO, the client can view the NFT that represents the status of the property buying and selling process they have acquired in Metrovacesa. The NFT is certified by TrustOS by Telefónica Tech.
The NFT is dynamic and non-transferable, and will be updated as the buying and selling process progresses. These stages range from pre-booking, booking, private contract of purchase and sale until the delivery of the property, and the customer can access exclusive discounts and services specific to each state. These services feature benefits from firms such as idealista, IKEA, Qlip, and Lateua.
Abel Peña, Bit2Me’s CSO, states that large real estate developers are already seeing the potential of the cryptocurrency sector and are moving to prepare the foundations of the future Web3 ecosystem.
“Young generations will be born in a digital Web3 environment,” explains Peña, “Companies that prepare for the change, like Metrovacesa, will be ahead of these new business lines adapted to the new times”.
Carmen Chicharro, Commercial, Marketing and Innovation Director of Metrovacesa, pointed out: “KALIO opens a new channel for customers with digital currency and promises to revolutionize the way these customers interact with the purchase and acquisition of properties, providing a unique and pioneering experience in the sector. The alliance with Bit2Me joins two sectors destined to meet.”
To access KALIO, users need to receive an invitation from Metrovacesa to download the application from Apple and Google stores. This invitation is generated after the user’s previous request and direct contact with the promoter.
