MADRID / ELCHE, Spain, September 8, 2026 — Bit2Me Group announces the creation of Bit2Shield (CRYPTOSHIELD, S.L.), a new company specializing in the seizure and custody of crypto-assets for public institutions, blockchain intelligence for financial institutions, and forensic expert analysis. The company was founded to provide direct support both to public asset recovery bodies and to financial institutions in the investigation and management of digital assets.
Bit2Shield is established as a company with its own legal personality within the Bit2Me Group, bringing together in a single structure capabilities that public institutions and financial institutions previously had to seek separately: traceability analysis, technical assistance during operations, expert evidence ratifiable in court, institutional custody, and training.
A Defined Regulatory Perimeter
Bit2Shield is not a crypto-asset service provider and its activity is not subject to Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 (MiCA): its analysis, expert reporting, operational support, source of funds certification, and training services fall outside that regulatory perimeter. Whenever an action requires converting crypto-assets into euros —for example, in the liquidation of seized assets— that specific operation is carried out by BITCOINFORME S.L., a crypto-asset service provider authorized and regulated by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
An Operational Bridge Between Blockchain Technology, the Public Sector, and Financial Institutions
The creation of Bit2Shield responds to the institutional need for specialists able to translate the complexity of the on-chain environment —the public ledger of transactions on a blockchain network— into the procedural and evidentiary framework required by the courts. Its capabilities are as follows:
- Operational support and seizures (B2G). On-site and remote technical assistance to public bodies during searches and operations, including secure wallet imaging and extraction, custody of seized cryptographic material, asset location and triage, and the issuance of digitally signed expert reports.
- End-to-end management of seized assets. Facilitation of institutional cold custody through isolated multi-signature wallets owned by Bit2Me, as well as of the realization and liquidation of assets in accordance with the ruling of the competent authority, with subsequent transfer in fiat currency to the official accounts of the public entities.
- Judicial expert reporting and forensic analysis. Preparation of forensic on-chain traceability reports and expert ratification in court.
- B2B solutions and consultancy for crypto-asset banking compliance. Enhanced Source of Funds certification for institutional investors and OTC clients, risk exposure analysis for financial institutions, and audit, consultancy, and threat hunting services against fraud networks.
- Specialized training. Official courses and tailored programs on crypto-asset intervention, advanced traceability, and the MiCA regulatory regime, aimed at police forces, the judiciary, and the banking sector.
The Team
Bit2Shield brings on board Adrián Maroño, former member of the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of Spain's Guardia Civil, as Head of Investigations. His career brings the company operational experience in investigating organized crime and technology-related offenses.
«For years I have seen first-hand how complex digital asset investigations become when the right tools and technical knowledge are not available. At Bit2Shield we make available to both the public and private sectors a specialized capability that until now was hard to find gathered in a single team: operational rigor, on-chain traceability, and procedural guarantees from the very first minute of an operation», says Adrián Maroño, Head of Investigations at Bit2Shield.
«Bit2Shield is born as the technical arm at the service of judges, prosecutors, police forces, and financial institutions. With the development of regulatory frameworks such as MiCA and the associated transparency requirements, a rigorous bridge was needed — one that not only traces transactions, but also documents the chain of custody from seizure through to the liquidation of the funds. With Bit2Shield we contribute technical capacity and procedural traceability», says João Augusto C. Teixeira, Founder and Chief Compliance Officer of Bit2Me Group.*
