Bit2Me has been awarded as SME of the year in Compliance! Last March 27, representatives of various companies had an appointment at the Expansión Awards, with the common objective of recognizing and rewarding the most outstanding Compliance departments on the national scene. These awards, born in 2018 as a pioneering initiative in the legal world, are also sponsored by top-level such as Deloitte Legal, Iberdrola, and Esade.
By the hand of João Augusto Teixeira (Chief Compliance Officer at Bit2Me), Bit2Me was recognized as SME of the Year in Compliance for its great work and trajectory in this area in which it has bet strongly since the company’s inception in 2015.

In his thank you speech, João Augusto acknowledged, “We are a young and innovative company, and we use technology and professionals with extensive experience in compliance to carry out our work, which consists precisely in fighting against all those who do not respect the law.”
Although we have been honored with this award, Augusto states, “In our company, we continue to work hard to improve risk identification and implement preventive and corrective measures, always staying alert and committed to the ethical values and legal responsibility of our organization. We are in constant reinvention, looking for preventive measures and always being attentive to what is happening around us, especially concerning ethical values and legal responsibility”.
In this sense, Bit2Me is constantly striving to maintain high standards of quality and commitment, and in addition to having the Expansión Award in Compliance 2022, Bit2Me is also ISO/IEC 27001 certified in Information Security and has specific agreements with Ledger Enterprise and Prosegur Crypto. This new award also recognizes the work of Bit2Me in betting on Spain as its physical and fiscal headquarters within a regulated environment, as evidenced by its registration with the Bank of Spain, innovating and developing its cutting-edge technology, and expanding its customer base to offer them the best and safest experience in the market.

It is an honor to be here today to receive this SME of the Year in Compliance award on behalf of Bit2Me. As compliance professionals, we know that our work is not always easy or distinguished, but it is essential to ensure that companies remain a model of integrity and accountability.
At Bit2Me, compliance management is an ongoing task that requires effort, dedication, and adaptation to a constantly evolving business sector such as crypto asset activity, but we do not let our guard down. In our company, we continue to work hard to improve risk identification and implement preventive and corrective measures, always staying alert and committed to the ethical values and legal responsibility of our organization.
Bit2Me’s compliance department wants this award to be much more than a recognition, but to be the breaking of a barrier, that of prejudice and lack of knowledge of all those who associate crypto assets to crime, as it is not correct. We are a young and innovative company, and we use technology and professionals with extensive experience in compliance to carry out our work, which consists precisely in fighting against all those who do not respect the law.
I want to highlight the support of Bit2Me’s senior management and all the company’s staff. In particular, I must thank the Compliance team, who do an invaluable job with determination and passion, spreading the culture of compliance internally and collaborating externally with regulators, law enforcement, and other public entities. Together we have worked hard to establish and maintain high ethical and quality standards.
I would also like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to learn about blockchain technology, Web3, and crypto assets, as we are experiencing a technological revolution that is changing the financial sector and people’s lives. We need to accept and encourage the use of crypto assets, and for Spain to be a strong player in the new global economy.
